Mediterranean-inspired jazz. Led by composer and multi-instrumentalist Paul Hage, Mirage offers a unique and lively performance of upbeat original music along with pop, rock, and jazz covers. Their music is influenced by rhythms and melodies from the Mediterranean and Middle East. Genres such as nuevo-flamenco and contemporary jazz are met with classical-style guitar playing from Hage and band-mate Dan Innes, along with percussionist and Moroccan-born Hicham—who plays cajon, djembe, and darbuka. Mirage creates an expressive fusion of world music that has become the band’s trademark.
